caring for you at the palms
We cater for all acute and long-term illnesses found in general practice. Our centre is certified to the accident and medical clinic standard NZS 8151:2004 and is equipped to a very high standard with acute treatment bays to take care of most types of accidents or medical emergencies, as well as family health care. Care for all children under 6 is free of charge at all times, including for casual patients.
Plenty of parking is available directly outside the centre, and a cafe is available for patients and visitors.
We encourage patients to register with one of our GPs for continuity of care.
keep track of your health
A visit to your doctor will be far more beneficial if you accept that the first responsibility for keeping up with your health and wellbeing lies with you. Did you know your GP team has a green, yellow, red dashboard on their screens to signal areas of your health that may be due for a check? Keep everything running on Green! Ask your doctor or nurse what colour your dashboard is every time you visit.
quit smoking at the palms
Let us help you to stop smoking! We are running a wide campaign offering different ways to help you quit smoking once and for all. Call us on 354 7737 to find out how we can help you.
hospital running orthopaedic clinic from the palms
Palmerston North Hospital, together with MidCentral DHB, are running an orthopaedic knee and hip clinic based out of our practice. The clinic will operate out of Suite 4, Monday to Friday. All appoinitments will be coordinated through the hospital.
Please direct any questions to the hopsital on 356 9169.
The Palms physical address is: 445 Ferguson Street, Palmerston North, 4410.
We are delighted to be involved in this joint initiative which enables a secondary health service to be hosted in the primary care environment.
shared care record
A new electronic "Shared Care Record" is available for patients in the MidCentral district.
If you visit an after-hours medical centre at City Doctors, The Palms, or Horowhenua-After-Hours, the health professionals caring for you will have access to a summary of information from your GP.
The record which is secure, can be used by after-hours general practice teams to better provide you with safe and effective health care.
